Story

At its core, the Ezra Mandocello shares the same tuning, scale length, and musical range as the Ezra Tenor Baritone. The difference is in the strings: by using four paired courses instead of four single strings, (much like a 12-string guitar compared to a 6-string) it produces a fuller, richer sound with added shimmer and harmonic complexity.

Rather than following traditional mandocello convention, the Ezra Mandocello uses the stringing approach we've successfully employed on our electric mandocellos for years. Tuned cC gG DD AA, the lower C and G courses are octave-strung while the upper D and A courses remain in unison. The result is a sound that's bigger, more articulate, and more harmonically rich than a standard mandocello, with the lower courses adding sparkle and dimension without sacrificing clarity.

Built on the same premium foundation as the rest of the Ezra line, the Mandocello features an all-solid Sitka spruce top, solid mahogany back and sides, an ebony fretboard, premium onboard electronics, and a custom hardshell case. Designed for players looking to explore a broader sonic palette, it delivers the craftsmanship, comfort, and thoughtful modern features that define the Ezra series, paired with a uniquely rich and inspiring voice.
